Netflix shows I loved

One of my favorite things to do in the evenings is sit down with my husband and watch a TV show. It’s the most relaxing thing in the world! I’ve never been one to sit down and watch TV for a long time until Netflix. I’m guilty of getting hooked on a show and binge watching it.  Some of these I’ve watched alone, some of them Mike and I watched together. Let me know what your favorite Netflix show is!
Breaking Bad

Mike and I both absolutely LOVED this show. It’s basically about a high school chemistry who gets cancer and decides to start making meth to pay for his treatments. That’s all I can tell you about it without giving anything away. The first episode is a little strange, but it’s just strange enough to make you wonder what’s going to happen next. You’re probably thinking it’s weird that we loved a show about a drug dealer, but I’m telling you, just trust me and watch it. I promise you won’t be disappointed.,0,182,268_AL_.jpg?resize=254%2C374&ssl=1
Sons of Anarchy

This show is all about a motorcycle gang. I never in a million years thought I would be interested in a show about motorcycles in general, I’m such a girly girl and I’m so not into stuff like that. Mike convinced me to give it a chance, so I did. I quickly became obsessed. Sometimes we would get takeout instead of going to eat somewhere on Friday nights so we would binge watch it. It was amazing. The main character, Charlie Hunnam, is a hottie so that was a plus!
Parks and Recreation

If you’re looking for a light-hearted show that will keep you laughing, watch this. As stupid as this show was sometimes, I couldn’t turn away! We were hooked from episode one. I’m not gonna lie, I got teary eyed when we finished this one up. I would without a doubt re-watch this whole series over again, it was that good. Anatomy
Who doesn’t love Greys Anatomy? I think it’s one of the best shows out there. Mike never really got into this one with me, but I am absolutely in love with it. It’s all about surgeons and their lives. If you haven’t seen it, go on Netflix and watch it! You’ll get hooked just like I am! Tree Hill
In the beginning it seems like it’s going to be all about basketball, but that’s so not true. This show sucked me in after about episode three. I can’t stop watching it! Mike watches it with me too and he likes it just as much, even if he would never admit that if you asked him. This is easily one of my favorite shows of all time. It’s right up there (not in front of) with Breaking Bad.

What I want to watch next..
Stranger Things
How to get away with Murder

These are my confessions

These are my confessions
Just when I thought I said all I could say
My chick on the side said she got one on the way
Sorry y’all, I couldn’t help myself. Who doesn’t love Usher, right? Anyway, let’s get down to it.

…… As bad as I want to move, I’m sad. This house holds so many memories for us, it’s going to be so hard to leave that behind.

……. I’m an awful decorator. I have a hard time pairing colors together and knowing what looks good with what. You would think with me being a hairdresser and all, I would be amazing with color. I totally am with hair, just not with home decor! Weird, I know.

……. I ask Mike EVERY DAY if I can get a puppy yet. I’m worse than a child. I just can’t help it.

……. I want to spend all my money on new clothes, purses, and shoes but we need furniture. Our new house has a lot more space than the home we’re in now so that means we need furniture. I also have big plans for our laundry room. #newhouseprobs

……. I drink too much coffee. I used to only drink one cup in the morning. One cup has turned into three cups. I need to chill out.

……. I haven’t bought a bedspread for our master bedroom yet. We’ve been sleeping with a sheet and a plain white duvet since we’ve been married. Whoops. I’m thinking about buying this one and pairing it with a simple tan or gray wall color.

I hope y’all have a fabulous Thursday!

Skincare: Product reviews & Routine

When I was in sixth grade my Mom started explaining the importance of taking care of my skin. She bought me a three step system from Clinique, and she made sure I used it every night. Ever since then, I have taken my skincare very seriously. I have combination skin, in the cooler months it’s super dry but at the same time oily (strange, I know), and I do have acne outbreaks.
I change up the products I use a lot, but here’s what I’ve been using recently.
It’s a lot, so prepare yourself!

I sometimes use make-up removed wipes, but I recently read an article about how awful they can be for your skin. I switched to using a more natural option, the Makeup Eraser. I am such a fan of this product because it removes my makeup with only the cloth and warm water. No chemicals added. Why would you spend hundreds on make-up remover wipes when you can pay twenty dollars for one washcloth that you can use over and over again. All you have to do is throw it in the washer and it’s good as new. I’m telling y’all, it’s worth the twenty dollars.

Image result for kate somerville cleanser exfolikate

I have used the Kate Somerville Exfolikate Cleanser for about three months and I LOVED IT. It smooths my skin, clears up my acne, but at the same time it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. It’s a tad bit expensive but it only takes a pea size amount to cleanse the whole face.

After cleansing once, I use my Pink Clarisonic (that my sweet hubs got for me) to deeply cleanse my skin typically 2-3 times a week. I can’t even begin to tell you how incredible my skin feels after I use this thing. It’s absolutely AMAZING. If you don’t have one, I think it’s definitely worth the investment if you take your skincare seriously like I do.

I don’t exfoliate often, I would by lying to you if I told you I did it weekly like I should. I currently use a sample of the Fresh Soy Face Exfoliant that my mom gave me from her Ipsy bag. It doesn’t break my face out and my face definitely feels smoother after I use it. I would consider purchasing a large size of it in the future, but I am interested in trying out some other skin exfoliants.

I currently use the Obagi Nu-Derm Toner and it’s my holy grail. It instantly gives a cooling and clean sensation on the skin when applied, and it doesn’t dry my skin out at all. I feel like it really cleans my skin without over cleaning my skin if you get what I’m trying to say.

I absolutely LOVE face masks. They’re one of my favorite things! I typically switch between two, but if y’all know of any more good ones let me know!!

Image result for michael todd clay detoxI Love my Michael Todd Kaolin Clay Detox Mask for days when I’m broken out and feeling extra oily. If you suffer from acne this is a MUST. I can put this mask on in the evening and by the following morning I can tell a difference in my face. If you don’t have acne, it does a fabulous job of clearing out your pores. The smell isn’t the greatest because it’s a clay base, but I’m willing to suffer through a little bit of stank for some amazing looking skin.

Image result for 5 in 1 bouncy mask first aid

For a less harsh mask I use the 5 in 1 Bouncy Mask by First Aid Beauty. It is is cooling, hydrating, balances the skin, and it leaves my skin feeling super clean as well as radiant. I love this stuff! My skin feels like a baby’s butt after I use it. First Aid Beauty says to leave it on for 7-10 minutes, then rinse it off. Not gonna lie, I leave it on for almost an hour sometimes.

Image result for obagi nu derm blenderI have hyperpigmentation, and if you do too, you know how embarrassing it can be to have huge purple or brown spots on your face from pimples. I HATE IT. I use the Obagi Nu-Derm blender with a Tretinoin cream (you blend them together) on the places I have hyperpigmentation. I’m telling you, this works like a charm. If you’re someone who suffers from hyperpigmentation like I do, BUY THIS STUFF. It will rock your world. I let that soak in my skin for about 30 minutes before I put anything else on my face.

Image result for epionce lytic txFor my morning lotion, I use the Eiponce Lite Lytic TX. It’s a lotion that smooths the appearance of any type of skin texture you may have going on. It has helped in keeping my acne away. It’s light enough to wear under make-up and I love that’s it’s a lotion that will help my skins appearance all day long while under my make-up. While it does all of these things my skin has never been dry while using this product and that’s why I have fallen in love with it.

Image result for obagi skin calming lotion

I use the Obagi Nu-Derm Gentle Rejuvenation Skin Calming Lotion for my night time lotion because it’s heavier than what I would want to put makeup over. I love this lotion and I feel like it really hydrates my skin. I’m looking to buy another good, heavy night cream, do y’all have any suggestions??

Five on Friday

Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a fabulous week. Here’s what my little family and I have been up to lately.

O N E – I talk about Susie a lot, I know. But she’s my baby! I’ve been letting her sneak up on the bed in the mornings while her Dad is working (sorry, Mike). We’ve still been taking out evening walks on the greenway and we’re both loving it. It definitely helps her get her energy out and it’s good exercise for me. Two of my little brothers went with us Wednesday night and I loved having them with me, it was nice having someone to talk to during our walk. I miss living with those kiddos.
PS. I’m still trying to convince Mike we need another puppy. Hopefully the pup will make its debut soon.

Susie Post-Walk. Don’t let her fool you. This dog was STILL crazy even after a three mile walk!

T W O – We were supposed to move into our new house today, but of course, things happened and we aren’t. Our buyers asked for an extension because something was up with their loan process. SO ANNOYING. Especially since we have packed up pretty much everything in our home. I have no living room, no couches, and it’s so depressing coming home every evening. Our new closing date is set for the 15th, we shall see if this time it actually happens. We need all the prayers & good vibes we can get! I sure hope this next week fly’s by. Who knew buying a home would be so complicated?

T H R E E – I am loving essential oils here lately. My mom got me hooked, she uses them all the time. I thought she was crazy at first, then I actually tried them and I love them! I use one drop of Frankincense essential oil mixed in my face lotion in the evenings. It has an antibacterial benefit to it which makes it great for acne prone skin like mine. I love mixing a drop of Lemon essential oil in my water once a day. If you do try this, do not drink it out of a plastic cup or bottle, it will eat away at the plastic. I learned this the hard way. Lemon essential oil has so many benefits. I like to drink it because it serves as a natural detox for the body. It’s known for its purification qualities. Love this stuff. I love to use Lavender essential oil for it’s calming qualities in the evenings and I also put a drop on my temples before bed time. I can tell it really relaxes me and gets me ready for bedtime. I love it! Mike has trouble sleeping at night and I thought diffusing this would help him, but it didn’t at all. Do any of yall have tips for a better sleep at night??

F O U R – My latest Netflix obsession is One Tree Hill. It’s SO good. I’ve had a lot of friends tell me I needed to watch it so I finally bit the bullet. Mike watches it with me too! Sometimes it’s a little cheesy, but I still love it. And I think Mike does, too!!

F I V E – Fall is THIRTEEN DAYS AWAY! I’m craving fall for some reason this year. I think it’s because all summer its been 90 degrees or higher. I painted my first fall wreath and it’s hanging on the door already. And I’ve had three PSL’s. I just can’t help it!

Pumpkin spice everything!!!!!:

Birthday Weekend

I had an amazing Birthday spent with my closest family & friends.
We went to our towns local winery, then went back to my parents house where my Dad made my favorite, taco soup, and I enjoyed more time spent with my favorite people.
This was probably one of my favorite Birthdays to date because it was just so laid back. This year I didn’t really even care about getting gifts, I really just enjoyed spending time with everyone I love. It seems like everyone’s lives are so busy lately, so it was so nice to be able to sit and relax with everyone.
I have so much to look forward to within the next year and I’m excited to take on 22!
I know it’s going to be a fabulous year.
