Our Wedding | The Details

If I’m being honest, planning our wedding was not fun for me. I have a hard time taking a bunch of little details and placing them into a bigger picture. Shout out to my Mom, and our wedding planner, Tara, for making our wedding so special! I’m so ADD, I don’t think I could’ve pulled it together alone.

Even though I didn’t love planning the wedding, looking back, I really love the little details of our special day. To me, the details of a wedding are what sets it apart from every other wedding. The little, special things are what you’ll look back on and really appreciate.

My parents got me a sixpence to place in my shoe. It comes from the old saying “Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, A Sixpence in your Shoe.” It’s supposed to bring good luck, and it was a really sweet moment I had with my Dad when he brought it to me & placed it in my shoe. My Moms Dad did this for her on her wedding day, so it was nice to be able to carry on the tradition.

Speaking of shoes, my Mom picked them out and I LOVED them. They were the Kate Spade Sela heels. I love all of Kate Spade’s wedding shoe collection.

I was worried about the flowers because I had a vision in my head of what I wanted my flowers to look like and I had the hardest time relaying exactly what I wanted to our wedding planner! Pinterest helped me a ton when it came to flowers. I had a private board that only my Mom, the wedding planner, and I could see where I pinned all my flower inspiration pictures. This helped SO MUCH.

We got our guest book from Shutterfly! I was really pleased with how it turned out. We had a section for the traditional guest book where everyone signed their names, and we had a section where people could write little notes to us.

Kate Spade Toasting Flutes

My Grandfather was one of the most, important, influential people in my life. He passed away five years ago, and I miss him every day. A dear family friend gave me this wedding bouquet photo charm that had my Grandpa’s Birthstone attached to it. This one of the most special gifts I received.

I remember Grandpa always had a handkerchief with him, so I wrapped my bouquet in one of his handkerchiefs as another tribute to him. I wish he could have been there on our wedding day, but I know he was looking down on us.

We got these little Thank You cards to place at everyones place setting during dinner. I ordered these off Etsy from a shop called That Pretty Invitation as a PDF and my Mom printed them off for us.

Wedding Registry Guide and Checklist

After Mike and I got engaged one of the first things I thought about was what I was going to put on our wedding registry. We chose not to live together before we got married so we didn’t have anything we needed, especially when it came to things for our kitchen. I’m not going to lie, creating a registry was overwhelming and quite stressful at times. At first, it seems like it’s going to be loads of fun, who doesn’t want to walk around a store scanning things for people to buy you? It may have been more fun if I were scanning shoes or dresses, but no, I was scanning kitchen supplies… Booring

Our Wedding | The Reception

Aside from marrying my best friend, our reception was my favorite part of our wedding day. The serious, important stuff was done and we could celebrate being MARRIED with our friends and family! The nerves from the ceremony were gone; I felt like I could finally sit back, relax, and take everything in.

Right after the ceremony, our guests enjoyed a cocktail hour. We made sure our cocktail was short and sweet because we wanted to get to the good part, the food!
